You have the magical power to stop one and only one of the following two scenarios. Which would you prevent?
1. You are an unknown carrier of a deadly contagious disease.
2. Your family contracts a deadly contagious disease.

Hmm, let's see. Going to the extremes of the dilemma, if I prevent #1, then my family dies. If I prevent #2, I kill everyone I come into contact with except my family (and, presumably, other people who are also asymptomatic carriers/immune).
I think I'm going to prevent #2. Even though I'm an "unknown" carrier in scenario #1, if everywhere I go, people get sick, but I stay healthy, it wouldn't take a genius to put 2 & 2 together. At which point I could isolate myself, preferably on a deserted tropical beach with an ample supply of pineapples and mangoes (and wifi, of course) ;-)
