Hmm. I'm going to say prevent #2 because when other people say they're "disappointed" in you, it's not necessarily your issue; it's theirs. Like, people are often "disappointed" when they want you to make one choice, but you make a different one. But presumably, you've made the best choice for you (unless you've disappointed yourself ;-)).
