1. As electronic communications increase, people lose the ability to communicate face to face.
2. All forms of electronic communications stop working.

Much as I love my e-communication, it would be pretty dumb if we couldn't talk to each other. So I have to prevent #1. Besides, in scenario #2, you didn't specify how long all e-comm would stop working for... thus, I invoke my magical powers to have the "stop working" part only last a finite period of time--a week's vacation might be nice ;-)
