Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
--Robert Frost
You have the magical power to stop one and only one of the following two scenarios. Which would you prevent?
1. A freak scientific accident triggers a runaway ice age, destroying all life on Earth and turning the world into an uninhabitable ball of ice
2. A freak scientific accident triggers runaway global warming, destroying all life on Earth and turning the world into an uninhabitable inferno.

Definitely prevent #2. Having been burned pretty badly as child I can say that burning up would be a very bad way to go.
If everything froze I am sure with all of the scientist and brilliant people this world holds we could survive. It wouldn't be fun or pretty but we'd make it. With fire it would just be over much too painfully and fast.
Haven't we had a similar question before? (Ah, yes.) So similarly, I'd have to go with preventing #2, the inferno. Although this is a no-win situation, freezing to death would be preferable to burning to death.
I would pick whichever would be quicker. I mean, if it was like WHOOSH and a fireball vaporizes everything, okay. But I'm thinking that an ice age wouldn't prevent future life on the planet.
If I pick neither, both happen, right? Then they can cancel each other out. Yay! Dilemma solved! ;)
