ok, I'll go out on a limb here (ahh, the puns, they just keep on coming ;-)). I'm going to go with prevent the loss of my leg because I think it would be easier to adapt to the loss of an arm. You'd learn to do things one-handed. Leg, otoh, you'd have to re-learn how to walk, either with a prosthesis or crutches. So that's more serious, imo. (and fwiw, I'd make the same choice if the situation was reversed, i.e. if it were me losing the arm.)

Yeah put me on the arm wagon. Then again, if it's the right arm... then I'd have to go with the leg.
