Dilemma 2/22/09

You have the magical power to stop one and only one of the following two scenarios. Which would you prevent?

1. Your favorite movie star is badly injured during filming.
2. Your favorite movie star's stunt double is badly injured during filming.

I'd prevent #2. For one thing, with a stunt person what constitutes "badly injured" is likely to be far more serious than what a bad injury would be for the celeb. Also, even the lowest paid movie star will have a lot more money than their respective stunt person. Thus, the movie star should be able to pay for rehab, etc. and maintain a decent lifestyle even if they can never work again (and a good actor would probably find a way to work, even with a permanent injury). The stunt double is more likely to end up broke and unemployed (since resuming a physically demanding job after a bad injury may be difficult).
