1. The politician you most admire is involved in a serious illegal activity which is publicly exposed and punished.
2. The politician you least admire is involved in a serious illegal activity which is never exposed or punished.

I guarantee both have happened. I'll prevent #1.
Thing is, whichever I pick, a crime won't be punished so I'm hinging on the word "publicly" versus the word "never."
Hmm. Question is, what am I preventing here? The involvement in illegal activity? OR the exposing/punishing (or not, as the case may be). If I'm preventing the politician I most admire from ever being involved in "serious illegal activity" then I prevent #1. If, otoh, they're going to engage in the illegal activity regardless of my magical power, then I prevent #2.
