Prevent #2 w/o a moment's hesitation
I love my parents dearly but there would no hesitation in my mind to prevent my child's death. I know that they would agree to the same thing.
Since I don't have a child, I'll prevent #1. (But if I did have a child, I would have to prevent #2.)
