Dilemma 3/16/09

You have the magical power to stop one and only one of the following two scenarios. Which would you prevent?

1. You discover that your ten year old child smokes cigarettes.
2. You discover that your ten year old child drinks alcohol.

Both of these are bad. I personally find smoking more repulsive than drinking so I'll prevent #2.

BTW: We just got the new Pinocchio DVD & there's an anti-smoking disclaimer w/ it b/c some characters smoke. So Zoe & I have talked about how gross smoking is.

I meant prevent #1

I would prevent #1. Smoking is way more addictive (so just trying it out of curiosity is far more likely to become an addiction in the case of smoking). Plus I would think the negative health effects would be more immediate with smoking.
