I'm not sure why I'd do #2? Am I being held at gunpoint?
At any rate, prevent #2. The interpersonal friction in #1 would help me keep my mind off the "trapped on an island" aspect, and provide perfect fodder for writing a screenplay about the experience afterward. Stuck on a deserted island with your worst enemy = Material, with a capital M. ;-)
